    This is a pretty complicated topic, there is a thread already about compiling FreeNAS which is a good starting point. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to download the FreeBSD 8.2 distro and grab the .ko file off that and try it on FreeNAS, it's a lot simpler than building a kernel.
