Database developer, no NAS and no Unix sysadmin experience. Slightly Befuddled.

Hi,

Had thought of buying a synology NAS but glad the lack of cash led me to FreeNAS and an old Dell SC430 for it to live on. Just playing at the moment which is just as well - three failed attempts at following the plugin jail instructions have left me unable to logon to the GUI. I'm under no illusions - it's almost certainly my own fault but I may have to reveal the extent of my own stupidity on the forums to get past this obstacle.
