Thread: Configuring minidlna question

    Configuring minidlna question

    I have upgraded to 8.2 RC1

I manually start minidlna from the command prompt inside the jail.

    minidlna is running.

FreeNAS GUI shows the plugin service status as OFF.

I need to force a rescan of my audio files.

When I initially installed minidlna I told it to not rescan on startup.

Now I would like to force a rescan. I can not find a way within the GUI to reconfigure minidlna.

Is this a bug or do I have to go to the command line to do this???

I found some configuration files at /usr/pbi/minidlna-amd64/etc

Start it from the GUI and not the cli.

I try to start the service thru the GUI but I get:

"Some error occured" barely visible in faint text.

Is there somewhere in a log file that there is more info?

I installed minidlna and SABnzbd under 8.2.0-BETA3

I did find a way to force rescan on restart.

I issued this command at the jail command prompt

    mindlna -R

That caused the server to rescan the next time I started it after rebooting FreeNAS.

i had this sme issue too. for some reason i wasnt able to see the MDLNA config tab. It shoud be under services/plugins/management/MiniDLNA. Try connecting from another browser or PC to the admin page.

    Good Luck!!

I tried another browser and another computer. No luck. Seems like others are having this problem as well. IUnless there is a way to get more detail on the error message I will wait for the actual release of 8.2 and do a clean install and rebuild my jail at that time.

Is there a log file somewhere that gives more info that will help debug this problem??? I am not very good with this stuff but I would imagine that the more users that can contribute to fixing errors the better.

    MiniDLNA with FreeNAS

I had the same issues. if you delete the miniDLNA plugin and reinstall it you should be able to get the configure button after you start your plugins. This is what i had to do to get it to work.

OK. I deleted the jail a couple of days ago and have not tried reinstalling miniDLNA. I will give it a shot.
